VINTAGE
Our rose is a combination of both Provence and Saignée style rosés. Picking fruit early with high acid and employing whole cluster press (removing the skins immediately) produces a light, airy Provence style rose. Saignée style is juice bled, or removed, from freshly crushed red wine must and fermented separately producing a rosé style wine that is slightly heavier and more fruit laden than most rosé wines. When both rosés are combined the result is a light refreshing rose at first but then blossoms into mouth-filling fruit flavors that linger.
VINEYARDS
Our Estate Rosé is comprised of four different varietals we grow on our estate vineyards: (Amador Co.) Zinfandel, Primitivo, Sangiovese, and Mission; (Placer Co.) Primitivo and Zinfandel.
TASTE
Aromas of strawberries, mint and rose petals greet the nose. The taste is akin to a bowl of fruit salad – berries, grapes, melon and mint, accompanied by delicate balance of acid and a touch of sweetness. A broad mouth feel paired with lingering acid make this wine both enjoyable alone or with food.
